ABELSETH, Jalmer: Born in Glidden, Saskatchewan on March 6th, 1919. Died peacefully in Kelowna, B.C. October 18th, 2014. Predeceased by his parents John and Anna, a brother Peter, and a granddaughter Helga. Survived by his wife of 69 years Grace, brother Mel (Chris), his sons John (Helen), Jim (Bev), David (Mary), Greg (Rosalie), sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jal was a graduate of SAIT. He worked for Calgary Power for 40 years, interrupted by service in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. While stationed in St. John`s Newfoundland he met Grace, his future wife. After the war they moved back west and raised their family in Banff and Seebe, before retiring to Kelowna, BC. Music was always a passion and for almost 70 years he enjoyed playing his music and entertaining people at dances and concerts. His joys in life included his family and baseball.
