FINLAYSON, Norma Noreen (nee Reader): Oct. 7, 1928 to Oct. 17, 2014 Norma Finlayson passed away peacefully at Trinity Care Centre on October 17 2014 at the age of 86. Norma was the second child of Reginald and Dorothy Reader, born Oct 7 1928 in Regina Saskatchewan. Her childhood was spent in Regina and time on her Grandfather's farm. She was 16 yr. old when her family moved to Vernon, BC. She made friends easily in her new High School where she met Gordon Finlayson, who she married Feb 13 1947. The family moved to Invermere in 1962, back to Vernon in 1970 and then finally to Penticton in 1971 where she lived out the rest of her life. Norma enjoyed life, gardening, sewing, knitting, dancing, bowling and golfing. She was a member of the singing group, "Sweet Adelines" for several years Norma loved to sew and made many beautiful clothes for her children and herself. She also took in sewing when she was in Vernon and Invermere. She was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana, and Great Nana. Her biggest love was her family. She loved to do things for them and be there for them. Norma was predeceased by her husband, Gordon, brother Reg Reader and grandson Michael Finlayson. She will be lovingly remembered by her children daughter Michele (Ralph) Tomlin, sons Guy (Sharon) Finlayson, Todd (Gayle) Finlayson and Greg (Allison) Finlayson. Her grandchildren Ian (Meagan) Tomlin, Shawn(Tanis) Tomlin, Jodi (Jamie) Grierson, Nicole (George) Primrose, Christopher (Emily) Finlayson, Matt Finlayson, Shaina Finlayson, Kohl and Kyla Finlayson. Her Great Grandchildren Ethan and Koan Grierson, Cassidy and Hailey Tomlin, Avery, Jackson and Journey Tomlin, Kieran Finlayson, Savannah and Jayden Primrose. There will be no funeral by request.
