RICHARDSON, Jo: Passed away peacefully at Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna on November 4, 2014. Jo was born in Calgary on November 21, 1919. She grew up in Banff, attended Nursing School in Toronto and worked in Edmonton and Vancouver prior to moving to Kimberley in 1945, where she married Hap in 1947. Hap and Jo lived in Kimberley until 1972 when they retired to Columbia Lake, where they enjoyed 25 years. Jo worked for many years at the Kimberley Hospital, JF Hazard Clinic and The Pines Special Care Home, as well as the clinic in Canal Flats. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Jack Moore and Hap (in 1998). Jo moved to Kelowna in 2004. Jo was passionate about downhill skiing, learning at the age of 41 and continuing into her 80's, as well as bridge, hiking, knitting, swimming, and the list goes on. Jo is survived by sons Rob (Pat) of Kelowna and Alan (Amanda) of Kimberley and daughter Anne (John) Malo of Terrace, their families (six grandchildren and three great grandchildren) and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff and friends of Hawthorn Park Retirement Community where Jo lived happily for nine years and to the wonderful and caring staff of Central Okanagan Hospice House. A service to remember and celebrate Jo's life will be held on Saturday, November 8th at 3:00 p.m. at 406 Christleton Avenue in Kelowna.
