George Cook died on 17 January 2015. He was 87 years old and had lived a very happy life. He was the only son of the late George and Eva Cook of North Vancouver. He was born in Lynn Valley, BC and spent most of his childhood in North Vancouver. George joined the Canadian Technical Training Corps as a Boy Soldier and served subsequently in the R.C.E.M.E. He re-enlisted in 2 Bn. Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry in 1950 and served in Korea. He graduated from UBC in 1954 and received an MA (Ed. Admin.) from Gonzaga University in 1981. He had a long career in public schools and community colleges in BC and Saskatchewan and retired in 1989 to his home in Kelowna. George is survived by his wife June (Fraser), daughters Patricia (Gerry Miller), Nancy (Nelson Cobra), Marion (Dennis Babey), Jennifer (Rhys Williams), nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Memorial service to be held later at Harrison Memorial Church, Crawford Bay.
