BURGART, Louise Norma: (1946-2015) Louise Burgart (nee Martin)) passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2015. Her family and friends are heartbroken. She was an amazing woman. Louise started her career as a teacher in Fort St. James and eventually moved to administrator. After serving as a vice principal and principal, she became the superintendent. She received her Bachelor of Education from S.F.U. and her Master of Education from the UVic. In her retirement, she was the co-owner and Director of Apex Mountain Resort. She also served on the BC College of Teachers, and was a member of the board for both UNBC and Northern Health. Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband of 41 years, Alan (2009); her brothers Reo (2011) and Darryl (1988). She is survived by her children Lara and Janna, Geraldine and Benji; siblings Brian (Bev), Don (Sandy), Roger (Mary Lou), Lynn (John), Terry (Joanne), Bruce (Sis), Gordie (Pam) and Kenny (Cathy); sons-in-law Sean, Scott and Jeff, grandchildren Oscar, Nula, Rowan, Ezra, Calum, Theo, and Lily, and dozens of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial will be held on February 1 at 1pm in the new gym at the high school in Fort St. James. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please give to the Fort St. James Community Foundation, or your favorite charity.
