JACQUES, Sue Arlene On Nov. 22, 2013, Heaven's a beautiful soul richer, as Sue, amid two Angels, ascended to God. Sue survived Nov. 8th, 2013 to celebrate their 55th Wedding Anniversary & Leo Louis' birthday, Nov. 19. The last morsels Sue ate were Angel food. Sue was Calgary's most beautiful 4 year old, & as a teen, played the Alberta Amateur Golf Championship Semis, losing one-up to the eventual victor. Raised in Elbow Park, Sue spent her younger years vacationing with her parents, Wells & Kay Morton at Kelowna's Bluebird Resort. She earned her P.H.T. at Edmonton's U. of A. (1960-65). Sue's O/S photos are featured in hubby's book, African Pearls And Poisons. Sue saved her family from Africa's "Black Death" at Queen E. Park, Uganda, 1971. In Amin's Uganda, Sue had a tropical disease, yet elected by her compatriots as the contact person to list all Canadian evacuees in 1972. She majored in Sociology & English at the U. of C. Sue joined Beta Sigma Phi, became Head of Ways & Means Committee, Pres. for five years & Girl of the Year twice. Sue played 3rd on hubby's 8-ender team at the Glencoe Curling Club. She earned a Sec. Sci. Cert. (Acct. Major) at Red Deer College. For 26 years, Sue worked at R.D.C. in the Reprographics & Finance (Accts. Pay. & Purchasing) Depts. She was Sec., & then Pres. of C.U.P.E. for 5 years & twice, as an Employee, won the Pres.' Award of Excellence & was the 1st Support Person to be named to the College's Board of Governor's, serving two terms. Sue was the 1st Support Person elected from Alberta & the N.W.T. to serve on the B. of Gov's. of the Assn. of Canadian Comm. Colleges. After, Sue was elected to the Exec. Branch of ACCC & helped many young people across Canada with their careers. Sue's financial wizardry & hard work helped hubby buy Spruce Acres in Red Deer County to raise and race Thoroughbred racehorses. Sue loved the foals. Besides hubby, her daughter, Laura (Nicholas, Charlotte) Cruse, son, Kurtis (Ben, Carson), all of Kelowna & her brother, Phil (Judi) of Anglemont, brother-in-law, Joe (Georgia) of Calgary & sister-in-law, Sue (Martin) Iftody of Grimshaw & cousins: Marty Iftody of Toronto, Jason & Jeff Morton of Calgary, survive Sue. A Flames fan, she wore an Oiler's jersey, in the halls of R.D.C., when the Oilers won the Cup. For the past 6 years, Sue spent her retirement with nice neighbours & friends at Sandpointe.
