NORMAN, Leslie (Les) Verne 1951-2014 We are blessed but overwhelmed to have shared the too short time he gave, when Les left our lives as suddenly and as gracefully as he lived "without a fuss" on March 2, 2014. Predeceased only by his father, Vernon in 2005, Les leaves behind a large family, beginning with his gracious mother, granny and great-granny Margaret Norman of Kelowna; his son Bryn Norman and daughter Annabelle (Jason) Horne, and their two children Ben and Angus Horne all of Fort St. John; his big sisters Dorothy and Joan (Hal), his little brother Bob (Lynda) and baby sister Barbara, their children and grandchildren. Les was a gentle man, a diplomat, and a very skilled negotiator. These traits brought him many career accolades in the building industry, in Grande Prairie, Vancouver Island, Kelowna, Calgary and Fort St. John. His customers always knew that Les was the man to get it done. Wherever Les worked, he left a trail of sales associates a little more polished, inspired, who knew their product and "asked for the sale". As a child Les developed a passion for reading; he raised two children who are avid readers, and story time with granddad was the best. Les truly believed if one was given the gift to read there was no excuse not to learn, to live and to participate in life. Les loved the time he spent with his grandchildren most of all. As the suns rays fall upon my face, I feel you in my heart. Your light will always fill my soul, we'll never be apart. A Remembrance of his life is being held on March 15, 10:00 am at Hamre's Funeral Chapel, Fort St. John, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort St. John Public Library, 10015 100 Ave, Fort St John, BC V1J 1Y7.
