FOSTER, Donald (Johnnie) 1932 - 2014"Johnnie" was born April 16, 1932 in Rossland, B.C. and passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at Penticton Regional Hospital in his 82nd year. Johnnie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Carol and 5 children, Nancy (Nick) Foster, Maureen (Vance) Fugeta, John(Jr.) Foster, Kathy (Mike) Young, Carolyn (Reg) Matheson; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who loved their "Papa John". Johnnie is also survived by 2 brothers, Ron Harry of Fernie, B.C. and Ross (Bernice) Harry of Gibsons, B.C.; 2 sisters, Beatrice Peters of Edmonton, Alberta and Pauline (Dave) Bird of Penticton. Johnnie was predeceased by his brother, Dave Foster of Penticton. In his younger years, Johnnie was an avid athlete and sportsman, later becoming a "lineman" for West Kootney Power and BC Hydro, installing high wire towers throughout the Province of B.C. from the early 1950's through to the 1980's. He also worked for Betts Electric in Penticton for many years. Johnnie lived life to the fullest and met many friends along the way. Johnnie and his wife, Carol enjoyed many adventures together during their 60 years of marriage. At the request of the family, there will be no service at this time. Thanks to the doctors and nursing staff in ICU at the Penticton Hospital, for their care to Johnnie. In lieu of flowers, donations in Johnnie's name can be made to the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation, 550 Carmi Avenue, Penticton, B.C. V2A 3G8.
