LINDEBURGH, Ferne Lucinda Passed away peacefully on April 26, 2014 at the age of 95. Mom navigated life with grace and dignity. Left to remember their good times together are daughter Nan and Al, Gary and Jarret; daughter Mary and Shannon (Michael), Moira and her son Brevin; daughter Joan and Gordon, Christina (Robert), Bradley; son Scott and Mirjam; sister Shirley Mossop, sisters-in-law Ethel, Norma, Shirley Corman and Erna Lindeburgh and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. Born in Readlyn, Saskatchewan the 3rd of 9 siblings, Ferne began her life on a farm on the harsh Saskatchewan prairies, a life which required true grit and perseverance especially through the Dirty Thirties and War years. She married her husband Lindy in 1949 and in 1959, with a young family in tow, moved to Penticton. Ferne's life and love centered on her family and home. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Many happy times will be remembered by her square dance, curling, golf, bridge, United Church and Saturday morning coffee friends. Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Penticton United Church at 2:00 pm. Friends so wishing may make donations to a charity of their choice.
