It is with geat sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Wilma Deloris Bewley, (nee Niessner). Wilma fought a valiant fight for several days trying to overcome a serious infection; but sadly lost the battle due to complications. Wilma passed away Nov 8, 2014 in Penticton Regional Hospital with family at her side. Wilma is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Leonard Bewley, her sister-in-law Helen North, and her children,; Allene Arnald (Ian), Randy Browning (Melodie), Laura Giesbrecht (Jeff), Leonard Bewley Jr, Susan Bewley, John Bewley (Annette), Barbara Ralston (Russell), Robin Bewley (Cheryl), Lisa Bewley, (Ali), her 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
Wilma was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Teresa Neissner, her brother, Ab North and grandson, Ryan Ralston.
Wilma was born on October25, 1926 in Wayburn SK . In 1936 her family moved from Saskatchewan west to BC finally settling in Kelowna where she grew up. Wilma attended and graduated from Kelowna High; shortly thereafter Wilma moved to Victoria, BC to start her career as an office administrator, and continued in this field throughout her working life in various locations in BC. The last position prior to retiring was as an insurance agent for Les Garrison insurance, in Coquitlam. Not too long after that Len and Wilma discovered a place nestled in OK Falls where they both felt this was their home.
Wilma's hobbies included, camping, fishing, and bowling, though her true passion was tending to her garden. Wilma made friends easily with her warm smile and ease of conversation. Wilma always loved to enterain and gather with family and friends.
Wilma's generous nature saw her as an active member of the Lions for many years as well as donating to many charities close to her heart.
